So those idiots that return, will they happily forget about all the damage they caused or was caused to them? They ruin lives, generations worth of innocents, lives lost, people damaged. At least they can give them a handshake, but no apology, no restitution.

Whatever Happened to Those who returned to JEHOVAH
by raymond frantz inhttps://youtu.be/3yylzu0bi_k?si=kku6r9szfenj3h9i.
whatever happened to those who came back to jehovah?
due to slow growth and the constant scrutiny from governments like norway in relation to their harsh disfellowshipping practices, last year in a move that no one expected the watchtower for the first time extended an olive branch to all those who left the organization or were disfellowshipped in the past.considering this practice was introduced over 60 years ago and with a rough estimate that around 100,000 leave jehovah’s witnesses every year the total number is in the several millions.so we should have expected millions to have accepted this invitation and rejoined the organization, the result though was an abysmal few thousands according to a recent jw update.. so now, for the first time, the latest watchtower study magazine for april 2025 gives us an inside view on how this reintegration is coming along, and it doesn't look good!.

The Waters of Babylon Are Drying Up (Now in Denmark)
by Sea Breeze inthe drying up of babylon's waters is a profound biblical motif that illustrates the certainty of divine judgment against those who oppose god.
looks like denmark is starting to hear the outcry of wt victims.

Here is a translation of the history so far: https://ekstrabladet-dk.translate.goog/nyheder/samfund/efter-ekstra-bladets-afsloeringer-tilsynssag-paa-jehovas-vidner/10381824?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=nl&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
basically the state ministry of churches is investigating the existence of the secret elder manual and its direction not to report immediately when child abuse happens, but instead detour through the WTBTS branch offices for instruction. This is against the law where the Danish say the elders or any adult has a duty to report, they instead tell victims and parents they have the right to report, but evidently heavily discourage that action (do not bring other Christians to Caesar so as not to bring reproach on the organization etc)
As we know, WTBTS does not claim ownership/copyright on any copies of the elder manual nor does it list it in its official list of publication in order to discredit anyone distributing it. That is why they are saying the copies that the Extra Magazine has access to are lies, Extra Magazine has a series of articles exposing the JW elders and financial fraud.

Rutherford wrote to Hitler praising him and telling him he agreed with his view of the Jews. Hitler’s book and his desire for implementation of what became the Holocaust were relatively well known even though the American mainstream media refused to cover it until close to the end of the war. They had a convention in Berlin and opened with a song to the tune of the German national anthem.Rutherford and the Bible Students of his era published some horrible material not only about Jews but people who weren't white Americans.
You would think that “being inspired by God” you’d have a bit more foresight.

American Primeval and the Mormons
by Simon injust finished season 1 on netflix.. holy crap, i had no idea of the history of the mormons!.
i always thought they were like the jws, or the quakers, but they were full on fascists committing massacres.. i'm sure they are hating having more people be aware of their past, but i gotta say, it is more event-filled than the jw history..

@vienne: Witnesses are a third schism sect descendent from Bible Students which themselves claim to be Russell’s Watch Tower who was initially an adherent of and heavily influenced by Miller, but after the Great Disappointment he came up with his own dates.
Miller was in direct competition with Joseph Smith. I read they both had many end of the world predictions and when one failed, the other would try to poach followers until the next prediction failed and then the poaching reversed.
Watch Tower International Bible Students Association (IBSA) is an extant organization claiming to be the continuation from Russell’s original vision, not part of WTBTS (Rutherford’s organization), many people seem confused as the WTBTS falsely makes claim to be IBSA.

Even DEMONS were conned by the org into believing 1975 was the end!
by BoogerMan inyb71 p. 97 country reports (part one) - "in malta there is a monk reputed to have the powers of a seer, in the confessional being able to know a person’s sins before they are even confessed.
a woman in one of the villages was having family trouble, and made a journey to this confessor in the hope of getting some hidden information by the monk’s psychic powers.
after being told of the problem, the monk said: “don’t worry about it, my dear, the end of all things is very near!” another woman in the same village, somewhat opposed to the truth, told this to her husband, who is having a bible study.

Always found it interesting how these stories circulate. And the thing is they’re often not even JW stories. 1920s ouijamania has a lot of “original” stories but modern “ghost hunters” and other attention seekers have recreated some of those
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/ghost-makes-ouija-board-glass--explode--in-spooky-video-162418683.html
”The end of all things is near” is just a quote from the Bible - monks and priests and pastors often quote the Bible.

I know a lot (majority) has never read the Bible cover to cover. Some pretend to have done so. Many people that do end up asking questions, too many questions and you are an apostate.
Also note that the WTBTS rewrite does reinforce a lot of the believes and even copies a lot of their “secret” language rather than proper English (or other translations). It is difficult to understand when the meanings of “world” or “lord” and “God” are twisted and swapped.

The origins of the Mormons and the Millerites (JW, SDA, Kellogg's Corn Flakes etc) are very closely tied together, they originated in the same area https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burned-over_district which those religious ideas also streamed into the civil war (abolitionism) and the Oneida community (the movement that brought about utopian American communism/socialism).
These groups have had long standing disputes https://mit.irr.org/joseph-smith-william-miller-and-prophetic-speculation - I think a lot of the ACTUAL history is long dead and buried.

The JW theology is definitely anti-Semitic, or at least it was when I was young. They kind of went away from the hardcore beliefs, but the early WT was definitely anti-Jewish (look up Rutherford’s Declaration of Facts or the Life book).
The old publications had sentences as late as 1946 that blamed Jews for the Holocaust (for rejecting Christ), that was later revised in the 1950s re-releases of Watchtower but still many JWs today believe this and other anti-Semitic tropes.
Even today, their website says that there is no scriptural support for political Zionism, but we are completely neutral on the subject (after saying it is against scripture). As with all the other double speak, there is a message there for JWs and for the world, and they’re different. There is another article on JW.org that basically says they are ‘the chosen people’ and thus “spiritually” JWs are the real Jews because they rejected Jesus. This is both an anti-Semitic trope and is similar to Black Hebrew movement that is an anti-Semitic group that claims black people are the real Jews and therefore modern Jews have no claims to either heritage or land. In modern times, JW don’t go quite that far in writing, but it seems implied.

What you cannot say about JW parents
by Anony Mous ini’m guiding a young person through some difficulties.
at least some of the family including a parent and grandparents are/were jw.
so there are some insecurities, without going into detail, young people are often worried that they may be ejected from the home after reaching a certain age if they offend their parents (totally normal feeling).. what i wanted to say is: a loving parent wouldn’t reject you because you did x, if anything they are expecting it, it is totally normal for you to do this.

@joe134cd: I think the older you get, the more bitter you are at all the wasted opportunities and at all the lives you damaged. When you are young you still get a chance at life. The earlier you get out the better, sadly not a choice that is easy to make. I've tried twice to leave 'everything' behind, and I did leave, but you cannot outrun your past.
I've seen many young adults and children end their life or killed, homeless or jailed because the result of JW policy leading to despair and substance abuse. I can't even count the number anymore, but I can tell you it is dozens that I am personally aware of.
I was a third generation JW, I remained "in" for a bit too long to be blameless, but I have high hopes it ends with me. If you are reading this and you are not sure whether to stay or go - leave now before you regret it - you can live without parents, you can live without family, without congregation.
If you are still active, do you really want to push people into this direction? When I was 14 I was so happy I had a 'study' with another youngster, child of a mom who wanted to be baptized. The JW pulled that family apart, the dad was not the greatest person, but despite that, they were a family. My family studied with the mom, I with the kid, she kicked his dad out for not continuing to get baptized, I pushed the kid to have his mom destroy his Metallica, AC/DC and Death Metal collection (it had skulls and pentagrams), the kid committed suicide soon after. Do you believe children of suicide would get resurrected? I was going to make it through Armageddon, because I had a study, I did my best, people that commit suicide are not worthy of our grief. His name was Thomas, we called him Thomas the Unbeliever afterwards (translation of Thomas the Doubter from my native language). I went on the stage at the assembly and told everyone about the success I had with my study, getting him to destroy his collection of Satanic music. That is who we are as JW. Despicable.
The world (in every sense of the word) is a wonderful place, people are good. You may think you are guilty when you leave other adults behind, but that is their choice, you will not be able to live with the guilt once you find your child is damaged, hurt or lost.

Hmm lets see:
let your children die over blood transfusions
kidnap children from their parent(s) when they become disfellowshipped or apostate
commit parental and adoptive fraud to keep children away from unbelieving parents
hide child abuse from authorities
mothers must die with their babies in case of ectopic pregnancy over getting a d&c
Those are all instructions I know people have received from elders, CO and branch offices, whether direct or implied. Those things alone are unnatural and heinous, many of them are crimes with long punishments because they are not related to free choices like adults can make.
